Make your bedroom hotel worthy

Staycation everyday

There is something about hotels.  Hotel rooms, hotel beds, just everything hotel.

We find that a hotel room is the ideal model when it comes to a domestic oasis one can call home.  Starting from the interior decor to the high thread count bedding, the touch enveloping the room feels super high end.

Designers from all around the world have input when developing the creative vision so it’s only right that we follow its model.

Don’t worry, you too can capture the luxury appeal of a hotel room by introducing a few tricks to elevate your decor.

A few accent pieces like a wardrobe and an eye-catching area rug will bring that missing touch to your bedroom, changing the look overnight.

We will show you how to make your bedroom look like the hotels in the magazines.

1. Wardrobe

We can’t stress enough the importance of having a built in wardrobe.

Besides the obvious reasons for clothes storage, a wardrobe ties a bedroom together.

Think about it, literally every hotel you’ve been to has a wardrobe and often more than one.  The wardrobes are doubled as entertainment centers with clothes space below or often times a slide wardrobe sits in the backdrop of the hallway.

A wardrobe keeps your textiles in a climate-controlled environment, preventing permanent damage to your clothing, and also giving your bedroom a clean, neat appearance.

We love a good standing wardrobe but sliding wardrobes are too high on our lists.

2. It’s the Little Things

Work with us here.Luxurious scented candles from a local organic market.  An elegant, super soft floor rug. A new crystal carafe full of water with a pair of matching glasses.  Fresh tulips.  Multiple fluffy down pillows with new cool pillowcases.  A new feathery and crisp duvet cover.  An upgraded lampshade.

All of these are things you can add overnight to bring your bedroom to another level.

3.Proper Lighting

Lighting is extremely important when outfitting a room.  You want to make sure you get soft, warm lighting as this type induces the best sleep environment.

You want to make sure you use lamps to set the decorative and general lighting tone of the room.  Hotels tend to always have lamps or sconces so let’s not reinvent the wheel.  You can have a lamp on both sides or just your side of the bed, either way you want.  You will find that these lighting fixtures not only introduce soothing, warm light into the room, but also a sense of style accents.

 4. Make Your Bed

A messy bed creates a messy environment that will eliminate the feng-shui of a room in a heartbeat.  Many of us get out of bed and go to work and forget to show our beds some love.  When we were kids, it was second nature to make our beds, so it fascinates us how as we become adults, we stop.

Making your bed not only gives you a mental productivity boost, it extends the life of your linens and ensures a cool inviting, super comfortable bed is waiting for you on your return.

Use white linens like hotels as they emanate a clean, high end image that also makes the room appear larger.  If the budget permits, invest in some high thread count percale sheets to also capture the hotel vibe.

5. Wireless Speaker

Modern hotels feature comfort technology that make our lives easier and more comfortable.  Whether it’s the automated climate control or a smart TV, you too can bring those luxuries to your bedroom.

Consider getting a wireless smart speaker to add to your room.  These days, wireless speakers, especially smart speakers, can give you the temperature and set a wake-up alarm for you.

We enjoy using the wireless speaker to play calm and soothing nature sounds to rock us to sleep like a baby.
